Source: Wall Street News

On May 3 this year, tens of thousands of investors will attend the annual shareholders' meeting, just like in previous years, in Omaha, the hometown of "stock god" Buffett, the small town of Nebraska, the United States, which is the headquarters of Berkshire Hathaway. At that time, the "Stock God" will have a chat with the participants and accept questions from analysts, shareholders, media, etc.

Buffett has been buying Berkshire shares since 1962 and took control of the company in 1965. 60 years later, Berkshire has become a world-renowned successful company, and the holdings of "Stock God" Buffett have also become the focus of attention of thousands of investors.

Judging from the past 30 years, Buffett's stock holdings have grown rapidly. Data shows that as of the end of 2024, Buffett's stock holdings reached US$302.7 billion, an increase of about 22 times compared with US$14 billion in 1994.

If you look at the specific heavy holdings, consumption, finance, and technology are their main focus. Founder Securities also stated in a previous research report that before 2011, Buffett's allocation to the industry was concentrated on finance and daily consumption. After 2011, Buffett gradually entered the field of information technology, and has now formed a pattern of information technology, finance and consumption as the top three holding industries.

In 1994, Coca-Cola was Buffett's largest holding. In fact, since Buffett bought Coca-Cola in 1988, and from 1989 to 2003, Coca-Cola has been Buffett's largest holding stock.

In 2004, American Express briefly became Buffett's largest holding stock. In the seven years from 2005 to 2011, Coca-Cola continued to become its largest holding stock again. In 2012, Wells Fargo began to become its largest holding stock, and continued until 2017.

In recent years, Apple has become Buffett's new favorite. In 2016, Buffett spent $6.747 billion to buy Apple. In 2018, Apple became Buffett's largest holding stock and has continued to this day. At the end of 2023, Buffett's holdings in Apple's market value reached US$174.3 billion, accounting for 45.5% of his stock market value.

Of course, Buffett's investment is not limited to information technology, finance and consumption. It also involves energy, raw materials, telecommunications services, healthcare, utilities, real estate and other fields. For example, Cleveland Steel, Freddie Mac, DaVita Healthcare, Verizon and other companies have also been heavily invested by Buffett.
