Xinhua News Agency, Seoul, June 4 (Reporter Huang Xinxin and Lu Rui) South Korean President Lee Zaiming was officially sworn in at Congress at around 11 a.m. local time on the 4th.
In his inaugural speech, Li Zaiming said: "I will strive to achieve great unity and become the 'everyone's president' who unite and serve all the people." He said that he will first restore people's livelihood and the economy, launch an emergency economic team, rely on national finance to achieve a virtuous economic cycle, and build a society with continuous growth and development. We will build an economic power leading the future through investment and support for cutting-edge technology industries such as artificial intelligence and semiconductors.
Li Zaiming said that "practical diplomacy" centered on national interests will be implemented and the relationship with neighboring countries will be handled from the perspective of national interests and practicality. While preventing "North Korea's nuclear threat and military provocation", open a window of communication with North Korea and build peace on the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and cooperation.
The South Korean Ministry of Administration and Security said that about 300 people including the Speaker of the South Korean Congress, political party representatives, members of Congress, and state committee members participated in the oath-in-service activity.

South Korea's constitutional reform in 1987 implemented a national direct election system for the president. The president was directly elected by the people and his term of office was 5 years. This election is the second time since 1987 that South Korea has elected a president in absenteeism.
