The U.S. demands that any agreement must include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the disposal of Iran’s highly enriched uranium, and long-term commitments regarding Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missile program, and its support for regional “proxy” groups. Egypt and Qatar have informed the U.S. and Israel that Iran’s conditions include guarantees against the resumption of hostilities and compensation for Iran. U.S. officials revealed that Trump deems Iran’s demand for compensation “unworkable.”

## U.S. Media: Trump Team Secretly Plans Peace Talks with Iran; Details Exposed

BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) — The U.S. and Israeli military strikes against Iran have now lasted more than three weeks. The U.S. news website Axios reported on March 21, citing anonymous sources, that the Trump administration has begun planning “peace talks” with Iran and is conducting preliminary negotiations through third-party intermediaries. Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner are involved in the efforts.

Axios cited a U.S. official and two other insiders as saying that U.S. officials believe the fighting will continue for another two to three weeks. Meanwhile, Trump’s advisory team seeks to end the conflict through diplomatic means.

The U.S. demands that any agreement must include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, the disposal of Iran’s highly enriched uranium, and long-term commitments regarding Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missile program, and its support for regional “proxy” groups. Specific requirements include: Iran halting missile program development for five years, ceasing uranium enrichment activities, discontinuing use of the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear facilities, imposing strict limits on the construction and use of centrifuges and related equipment, concluding arms control agreements with regional countries on missile range restrictions, and ending financial support for regional armed groups such as Hamas, the Houthi movement in Yemen, and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The report stated that the U.S. and Iran have had no direct contact recently, instead relaying messages through third parties including Egypt and Qatar. Egypt and Qatar informed the U.S. and Israel that Iran’s conditions include guarantees against the resumption of hostilities and compensation for Iran. U.S. officials revealed that Trump deems Iran’s demand for compensation “unworkable”.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on March 20 that the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran are illegal and unjustified acts of aggression, and he called on the world to unite in speaking out against them. Several countries have begun pushing for a ceasefire, but Iran will only consider solutions that end the war in one fell swoop. Iran rejects temporary ceasefires and demands a comprehensive end to the war, including guarantees that Iran will no longer be attacked and compensation for Iran’s losses.

Amir-Abdollahian also said he does not believe the U.S. is ready for negotiations.

## Iranian Media: Iranian Officials Propose Six Ceasefire Conditions

TEHRAN, March 22 (Xinhua) — Multiple Iranian media outlets, including the Mehr News Agency, reported on March 22 that an anonymous Iranian official told Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen TV that Iran has put forward six conditions for a ceasefire.

The report quoted the official as saying that several mediators in the Middle East have proposed ceasefire plans to Iran, but Iran insists that six conditions must be met. The six conditions are: first, guarantee that war will not break out again; second, close U.S. military bases in the Middle East; third, require the aggressors to pay compensation to Iran; fourth, end hostilities on all fronts in the region; fifth, establish a new legal framework for the Strait of Hormuz; sixth, try and hand over media personnel engaged in anti-Iran activities.

The official said that based on the current military situation, Iran believes a ceasefire is unlikely in the near future and will “continue to punish the aggressors” until they “learn a historical lesson”.

The official added that Iran’s current actions under the framework of a “defensive war” are based on a plan formulated several months ago, which is being implemented in phases.

Separately, Iran’s Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting and other media reported on March 22 that the Iranian Armed Forces stated that Iran’s operational strategy has shifted from defense to offense, with corresponding adjustments to battlefield tactics.
