A major turning point in the Russian-Ukrainian war? Putin sent a "peace talks invitation" to Ukraine for the first time in three years!

As Russia and Ukraine fail to test loyalty on Easter 30 hours and accus each other of sabotaging the ceasefire agreement, the United States is increasingly "losing patience" in mediating the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and threatening that the US side will not want to get involved unless some progress is made.
Against this backdrop, on Monday (21st) local time, Russian President Putin proposed to hold his first bilateral talks with Ukraine in many years. It should be noted that there has been no direct dialogue between the two sides since the first few weeks since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war in February 2022. Ukrainian President Zelensky said Kiev is preparing to hold any discussion on stopping attacks on civilian targets.
Putin said in an interview that the battle began again after the Easter ceasefire. He said Moscow is open to any peace initiative and hopes Kiev can do the same.
"We've been talking about this and we're positive about any peace initiative. We hope the representatives of the Kiev regime will feel the same way," he said.
It is also reported that Kremlin spokesman Peskov later told reporters that "when the president said it is possible to discuss the issue of not combating civilian targets, the president is considering negotiations and discussions with the Ukrainian side."
In his night video speech, Zelensky said that Ukraine insisted on its proposal to stop attacking civilian targets and was ready to hold any form of discussion to achieve this goal. He said the London talks “a primary task is to promote an unconditional ceasefire. This must be used as a starting point.”
Zelensky revealed that the Ukrainian delegation will work with representatives from the United Kingdom, France and the United States in London on April 23 to promote the achievement of an "unconditional ceasefire" and to seek true and lasting peace on this basis.
Previously, Russia and Ukraine reached a temporary agreement on the Easter ceasefire of 30 hours, but it did not seem to have any substantial effect. Zelensky said that the Russian army had not fulfilled its promised "silence" on almost all major fronts; Russia also accused the Kiev regime of failure to comply with the ceasefire during Easter, and even used the "Haimas" rocket launcher system provided by the United States to destroy the ceasefire.
The United States has gradually lost confidence in mediating the war. Trump previously said that if negotiations on the Ukraine issue cannot make clear progress in the short term, the US will no longer participate in mediation.
Trump warned that if one or both parties make negotiations very difficult, “we will no longer be involved.”
US Secretary of State Rubio also said that negotiations on the Ukraine issue cannot always stagnate, and if there is no signal of a consensus between Russia and Ukraine in the short term, the US will not continue to match.
"If it works, we'll participate; if it doesn't work, we have other priorities that need to be paid attention to," he stressed.
