Shenzhen welcomes ETH conference, Hong Kong Stock Exchange will list two new encryption ETFs

This week (August 18 - August 24, 2025), Web3 events are not to be missed. Here is a preview of this week's highlights:

**Monday (August 18):** The yield protocol Cap will be launched on the Ethereum mainnet on August 18, and will introduce the native points system Caps.

Fasttoken (FTN) will unlock 20 million tokens at 8:00 on August 18, worth approximately $91.8 million, accounting for 2.08% of the circulating supply.

The ranking list of Moonbirds and KaitoAI will be officially launched on August 18. Users can improve their rankings and earn Yaps by continuously publishing content about moonbirds, mythical creatures, and exotic items. Other ecological rewards will also be launched soon for top-ranked users.

Morph Zootosis will end at 8:00 on August 18, after which no new rewards will be generated. Users can withdraw or claim at any time in Matrix Vaults, and there will be no penalty for withdrawals after August 18.

Binance Wallet will launch RICE AI (RICE) TGE from 16:00 to 18:00 on August 18, 2025. Eligible users need to use Binance Alpha points to participate in the subscription. In addition, 40 million RICE tokens will be used for future activities, and specific details will be announced separately.

Binance Alpha will launch Reservoir (DAM) at 19:00 on August 18.

Thailand will launch the TouristDigiPay program on August 18, allowing foreign tourists to exchange cryptocurrencies for Thai baht for payments.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is now seeking public comments on the trading of crypto spot contracts listed on registered futures trading platforms, with a deadline of August 18.

Kaito AI's Capital Launchpad will open the public sale of RISE tokens at 20:00 on August 18. In this round of public sale, the FDV is $200 million (fixed), the target financing is more than $2 million, the maximum issuance scale is 4% of the total supply, 50% will be unlocked at TGE, and 50% will be unlocked 6 months after TGE (fixed).

**Tuesday (August 19):** Coinbase plans to conduct platform maintenance at 8:00 Beijing time on August 19. During this period, the receipt and sending of tokens such as BTC, LTC, BCH, ZEC, and DASH will be delayed, and the receipt and sending of all ERC 20 and ETH on the Ethereum and Ethereum Classic networks will be delayed.

Deribit will launch linear Bitcoin and Ethereum options priced and settled in USDC.

The registration deadline for the airdrop of the shared computer network Bless is August 19.

The New York court will hold a hearing related to LIBRA project advisor Hayden Davis on August 19. Earlier, Hayden Davis admitted for the first time that LIBRA is a Meme token. The court will hear whether Hayden Davis and his partners are suspected of manipulating LIBRA and profiting from it.

**Wednesday (August 20):** The Wyoming stablecoin WYST is scheduled to be launched on August 20. The committee has not yet determined which blockchains WYST will be released on, but has listed 11 candidate chains: Aptos, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Optimism, Polygon, Sei, Solana, Stellar, and Sui.

Registration and submission for BUIDL_QUESTS 2025 hackathon hosted by Amber Group's Web3 accelerator amber.ac will close on August 20, and Demo Day will be held in Singapore on September 30.

IOTA (IOTA) will unlock 15.16 million tokens at 8:00 on August 20, worth approximately $3.15 million, accounting for 0.42% of the circulating supply.

ProShares and Bitwise filed for an ETF tracking Circle's stock, with the ticker symbol to be determined, and it is expected to take effect on August 20.

Sapien Foundation announced that it will hold the SAPIEN token generation event (TGE) on August 20.

The 6,000 mining machine hosting agreement between blockchain service solution provider SOS and Bitmain will last until August 20, 2025, with delivery in 2 batches, 3,000 units each.

Brazil plans to hold a hearing on Bitcoin strategic reserves on August 20.

The first phase of the general ZK protocol Boundless verification competition will end at 11:00 Beijing time on August 20. The team will take a snapshot of the ranking list. Based on this snapshot, 0.5% of the total supply of Boundless tokens will be distributed to participating users at TGE. After August 20, a new ranking list will start recording until the mainnet goes live. Rewards from this ranking list will be airdropped after the PoVW mainnet goes live.

KAITO (KAITO) will unlock 23.35 million tokens at 20:00 on August 20, worth approximately $25.92 million, accounting for 10.87% of the circulating supply.

**Thursday (August 21):** MicroBit's Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs will be listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on August 21. The management fee for both ETFs is 0.5% of net asset value per year.

ONCHAIN SUMMIT will be held in San Francisco, California on August 21.

Upbit will delist STRIKE on August 21.

South Korean crypto trading platform Upbit will delist STRIKE at 15:00 local time on August 21.

**Friday (August 22):** BTC Digital has postponed its extraordinary general meeting to August 22, 2025. The company previously announced that it will fully embrace Ethereum (ETH) as its core asset and operational foundation, and plans to convert all BTC reserves into ETH. It is expected that the relevant plan will be discussed and voted on at the shareholders' meeting.

Coinfest Asia 2025 will be held in Bali, Indonesia from August 21 to 22.

**Saturday (August 23):** ETH Shenzhen 2025 will be held in Shenzhen from August 23 to 24. Guests at this summit include Adrian, head of the Founder Success team at the Ethereum Foundation; Mo Jalil, head of Asia-Pacific enterprises at the Ethereum Foundation; Uri Klarman, CEO of bloXroute; Zili Chen, director of the Apache Foundation; and Delane Foo, managing director of Nethermind Asia-Pacific. Participants will discuss topics such as scaling, open source and infrastructure, MEV, the integration of AI and Ethereum, and the implementation of ZK technology.

**Sunday (August 24):** The Central Bank of Brazil's public consultation on virtual asset accounting standards will last until August 24. The main contents of the draft resolution are as follows: the definition of initial recognition and subsequent measurement standards, the accounting treatment of issued virtual assets and hosted third-party virtual assets, and the disclosure of details of changes in the value of issued assets, asset nature, and related obligations in explanatory notes.

The blockchain game TOKYO BEAST will terminate its service on August 24.
