According to Foresight News, at the "The New Money Era" theme event of OKX Alphas Summit, OKX CEO Star, CMO Haider Rafique and OKX SG CEO Gracie Lin attended the "OKX Pay" theme roundtable dialogue, and conducted in-depth exchanges on payment innovation and future financial applications. Speaking about the cryptocurrency payment vision in the discussion, Star said that one of the biggest achievements of the crypto industry in the past 12 to 13 years is the globalization of Bitcoin. Bitcoin has become one of the most successful digital assets in the world. In addition, the second largest achievement is stablecoins. The current total market value of stablecoins is close to US$300 billion and is expected to grow further rapidly in the next 1 to 2 years.


In addition, Star further pointed out that from human history, payment has always been "point-to-point" in nature: from gold coins, silver coins to paper money is controlled by individuals. However, in the digital age, currency is held by financial institutions. Once the institution goes bankrupt, individuals often can only rely on limited insurance protection. The emergence of blockchain and stablecoins provides the possibility for payments to return to a "peer-to-peer" and low-cost and high-efficiency model. Especially in cross-border payments, stablecoins are expected to replace the current credit card handling fee of 1% to 3%, becoming the infrastructure for future payments. At the same time, with the development of multi-sign accounts, abstract accounts and on-chain monitoring tools, stablecoin payment can not only ensure safety and compliance, but also improve efficiency, and is expected to accelerate entry into public life in the next few years.
