YZi Labs invests in digital heritage platform Funes
According to Foresight News, YZi Labs invested in digital heritage platform Funes for an undisclosed amount. The newly raised capital will be used to support three key areas of Funes: modeling to capture comprehensive 3D data on historic and modern buildings around the world; online experiences to create a seamless, interactive platform to explore models and metadata; and AI integration to combine real-world data with technologies such as 3D Gaussian Scattering (3DGS), Radiation Fields (RF) and Large Language Models (LLM) for generation, research and education use cases.
Funes works to preserve the physical world in 3D, using crowdsourced photogrammetry and computer vision techniques to document, share and reimagine all human structures – from temples and towers to houses and ruins – before they are lost to history.
