According to CCTV News, on July 10 local time, US President Trump announced that he would impose a 35% tariff on goods imported from Canada starting from August 1.
According to reports, Trump also said in an interview with the media that he plans to impose a unified tariff of 15% or 20% on most trading partners:
“We will impose tariffs on all the remaining countries, whether it is 15% or 20%, which we are making arrangements.”
According to media reports, Trump also said that EU member states and Canada will receive letters notifying the new tariff rates today or tomorrow, "we will send the letters in the next few hours."
Trump also talked about the Russian-Ukrainian issue, saying that he would make an important statement on the Russian issue on Monday.
This week, Trump has sent tariff letters to South Korea, Japan and other countries, and announced that he will impose a 50% tariff on all copper imported to the United States starting from August 1.
