U.S. Senate passes resolution to end Trump's comprehensive tariff policy
According to Foresight News, according to CCTV News, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution with a vote of 51 in favor and 47 against to end the comprehensive tariff policy implemented by U.S. President Trump around the world. These resolutions must then be voted on by the House of Representatives, but House Republicans have repeatedly blocked legislative actions to overturn the tariffs, and these resolutions are expected to be difficult to get a vote in the House of Representatives. Even if the House of Representatives ultimately passes it, Congress would still need a two-thirds supermajority to override a presidential veto. Previously, the Senate had passed two resolutions aimed at eliminating tariffs on Canada and Brazil.
